Rommelsbacher

The maker that publishes the dimension its category leaves out — twice, in two families

Rommelsbacher appears in two families here: toaster ovens and raclette grills.

What we found writing the reviews

A 12.4-inch pan. The BG 1805/E publishes the largest baking pan its cavity accepts — 31.5 cm across. Most countertop ovens publish a volume and leave the buyer to guess; a volume is not a diameter, and the gap between the two is where disappointed buyers come from.

A plate size and a cord length. The RCC 1500 raclette publishes its grill plate — 41.5 × 22.5 cm, about 16.3 × 8.9 inches — and a 2-meter (about 6.6-foot) cord. A raclette grill sits in the middle of a table, where a short cord is the difference between using it and moving the table.

Two families, one habit. A single well-specified listing is an accident; the same missing figure supplied in two unrelated categories is a policy.

And the rest is specified too. The oven publishes a stepless 176 to 446 °F (80 to 230 °C), seven heating modes, four rack levels, a 120-minute timer with a continuous setting, and a door that comes apart for cleaning. The raclette publishes a parking deck for hot pans and pans that slide in from every side.

Buying Rommelsbacher in the United States

Both models reviewed here are European. On Amazon.com, the RCC 1500 is listed at 230 volts and both show as currently unavailable — neither would run on a 120 V outlet. They sit at the end of their shelves for that reason. For US options:
