Breville

Premium build and smart controls — and fewer published figures than the price suggests

Breville appears on this site in three families — toaster ovens, sous vide and waffle makers — always at the top of the price range.

What we found writing the reviews

Five elements, three rack positions, a short cavity. The Mini Smart Oven has five quartz elements, eight functions and an LCD, in a cavity only 4 inches tall — too low for a risen loaf, and without a convection fan; see can I bake bread in a toaster oven.

An app-first circulator. The Breville sous vide leans on its app — Turbo mode, Visual Doneness — and publishes no wattage, temperature range or accuracy figure on its page.

One European model. The VST072X waffle maker on this site is a 220–240 V European appliance with no US offer. Breville’s waffle plates for its US Smart Grill are reviewed separately — see what makes a waffle deep.
