Tefal GC3060 3-in-1 Contact and Table Grill review
The three-in-one that publishes its surface: about 93 in² (600 cm²) as a contact grill, 186 in² (1,200 cm²) opened flat as a table grill or BBQ. 2,000 W, a three-step adjustable thermostat with an indicator light, a dedicated gratin position, and non-stick plates and drip tray that come out for the dishwasher.
The net of it The one that answers the question. Every table grill claims to be big; Tefal publishes 93 in² (600 cm²) closed and 186 in² (1,200 cm²) open, and that single pair of numbers makes this the only model of the four you can size against your own table. Removable, dishwasher-safe plates put it on the right side of the durability line too. The thermostat is its weak point — three steps, with no degrees published.
Square inches, published
About 93 in² (600 cm²) closed. 186 in² (1,200 cm²) open. Tefal is the only maker of the
four here to publish either figure, and this family is decided by surface:
four people eating at the same time need area, and a grill that runs out
of it cooks in relays.
That single pair of numbers is the reason to shortlist this model.
Three shapes, and one that is unusual
Contact grilling from both sides with the grill marks that implies; a flat
186 in² (1,200 cm²) table grill or BBQ; and a gratin position in which the
top element browns from above without closing. The third is the one the
other grills here cannot do.
The plates come out
Non-stick, removable, dishwasher-safe — as is the drip tray. On a
grill, the plates are what wear, and plates that come out are what turn a
worn appliance into a part. This model, the Philips and the Braun all take
theirs out; the ADE does not.
The thermostat
Adjustable across three steps with an indicator light. That is the
weaker half of this machine: the ADE below it offers stepless control, and
the Philips above it publishes an actual range in degrees. Tefal publishes
neither degrees nor a range.
Buying it in the United States
Tefal is the European name of the brand sold here as T-fal, and the
GC3060 is a European model built for 220–240 V mains. The reference
B0051FDKEM returns no page on Amazon.com, so the button on this page runs
a search instead. A 2,000-watt, 230-volt grill on a 120-volt outlet will
not reach temperature, and a plug adapter does not change the voltage.
What to take from this page if you are buying in the United States is
the method: a grill that publishes its plate area in square inches is one
you can size against your own table before ordering, and one that
describes its surface in words is not.

What readers want to know
What is the gratin position?
Tefal publishes a dedicated position in which the upper element browns from above without closing onto the food. It is the one function of this grill that a flat plate and a contact plate cannot cover between them.
Is 186 in² (1,200 cm²) enough for four people?
It is the largest published figure among the table grills on this site, and the only one published at all — the ADE, the Philips and the Braun all describe their surfaces in words. Compare it against your own table rather than against an adjective.

The buyer this one serves, among kitchen appliances
A household of three or four that wants to know, before buying, how much fits.
Specifications: the manufacturer sheet for kitchen appliances and the matching Amazon product page. Prices and availability: Keepa. Every figure on this page names its source.
A 2,000 W three-in-one: contact grill, sandwich maker, and a table grill when the top opens flat through 180°. ADE publishes automatic height adjustment so food is cooked without being pressed, a stepless temperature dial, non-stick plates, a fat tray and non-slip feet.
Best for: Sandwiches and paninis on weekdays, and a flat grill when there are guests.
MultiGrill 9: three cooking positions, two independent temperature zones, a food probe, a sear function Braun states reaches 265 °C (509 °F) in minutes, and heating elements built into the plates. All plates are non-stick, removable and dishwasher-safe — and the set includes grill, flat and waffle plates.
Best for: A household that grills often, cooks two things at once, and would rather not own a waffle iron too.
60–220 °C (140 to 428 °F) · food probe · 8 presets
The only contact grill of the four with a food probe and a published temperature range. Philips states the probe monitors the core temperature of the food, digital control sets anything between 60 and 220 °C (428 °F), eight presets cover the usual jobs, the top opens 180° into a table grill, and the plates are removable.
Best for: Anyone who has ever cut a steak open to see whether it was done.
