Two beaters, one hand, and where you put it down · review
Philips HR3741/00 review
The 5000 Series hand mixer: 450 W, five speeds and a turbo mode, supplied with cone-shaped beaters and dough hooks. Philips states the beaters carry a pattern designed to make fitting and removing them effortless, and that the motor handles the toughest dough.
The net of it Solid, and short on one answer. 450 W with a stated claim on tough dough puts it above the Emerio and the Clatronic, and the cone-shaped beaters are a real detail — the fitting pattern exists because attaching beaters one-handed with batter on your fingers is the small daily annoyance of this whole family. The omission is dishwasher guidance: Emerio, Clatronic and Krups all state their attachments go in, and Philips does not say either way.
450 W and a claim to go with it
Philips states plainly that the 450 W motor makes light work of even the
toughest dough. That is a stronger statement than the Emerio’s — which
names light yeast doughs and stops — and it is published, so it can be
held against the machine.
Five speeds, plus turbo
The same arrangement as the Clatronic: five steps for intensity, a turbo
mode when more is wanted. No revolutions are published, so the lowest
speed cannot be compared on paper.
The beaters
The detail worth the paragraph: Philips shapes the beaters as cones
and puts a pattern on them so they go in and come out without a fight.
Anyone who has tried to seat a beater with batter on their fingers knows
why that exists. Beaters and dough hooks are both in the box.
The gap
Philips does not publish whether any of it is dishwasher-safe. Emerio,
Clatronic and Krups all state theirs are. It may well be — the manual with
your unit will say — but it is not in the specification, and a page that
guessed would be inventing the answer.

What readers want to know
Can the beaters go in the dishwasher?
Philips does not publish an answer for this model, and we do not assume one. The three other hand mixers on this site all state that their attachments are dishwasher-safe; the manual shipped with your unit is the authority here.
What is the point of cone-shaped beaters?
Philips states the shape and the pattern on the beaters are designed so they attach and release without effort. It is a claim about handling rather than about mixing.

A 400 W motor, five speeds and a turbo step, with stainless steel whisks and dough hooks that Clatronic states are all dishwasher-safe. An eject button releases the attachments. The middle of this family on power, and the widest price spread across Europe of any product on this site.
Best for: Everyday baking on a small budget, with attachments that go in the dishwasher.
The lightest and least powerful hand mixer here at 250 W, and the one with the most speed steps: six plus a turbo button. Emerio publishes extra-long stainless steel whisks and dough hooks stated to reach the bottom of deep bowls, an eject button, and dishwasher-safe attachments.
Best for: Cream, egg whites, cake batter — and a deep bowl the beaters can actually reach.
The 3Mix 9000: 750 W, metal internals, and the only hand mixer here with a stepless speed control rather than fixed steps — plus a turbo mode and a pulse function. Stainless whisks and dough hooks, all dishwasher-safe, an ergonomic soft-touch grip and an extra-long cable.
Best for: Heavy dough, big batches, and starting slowly enough that the flour stays in the bowl.
